Diagnostic Testing

At Holmer Green Service Centre we strive to keep up with the ever advancing technology used on todays motor cars. We have invested in many items of computer based test equipment and training courses so that we understand the systems we work on. We also have specialised tools and equipment to diagnose and repair the increasingly popular modern common rail diesel engines.

Here is a list of some of the equipment we use on a daily basis -

Fortunatley the days of 'trial and error' vehicle system repairs are gone, thanks to advanced test procedures

The above photo is a 2002 Renault Megane being tested with our Pico Scope to confirm a faulty direct ignition coil

This picture above shows the results of the primary voltage and current draw for a
healthy direct ignition coil (coil on plug)

This is a captured waveform we took from a 2001 Audi TT with faulty CAN bus signals on the ESP system.
Note the timescale across the bottom of the waveform is 200 micro seconds (200 millionths of a second) indicating the sort of signal speed and accuracy we are capable of testing with the Pico Scope.
